Journal Blog #3: Try your best Introduction

We discussed in class different ways to start an essay. Starting is always the hardest part. You want to get words on that blank screen or page, but you also want to choose the right words that are going to give your reader a reason to read.

More than that, you have to inform you reader. You have to slowly, gently, and creatively pull the reader into the world of your essay. You may need to provide the statisitics or research. You may need to give the reader and example or two. You may have to tell the reader a story.

We practiced in class with two example topics: "men's body image" and "Thai street food." In this journal blog, post your best try at an Introduction. The best examples will be reviewed in class.

Remember to include your ID# in your post. Aj. M

The loud chats of people all around shouting for the prices of their food and making customers aware of their low prices with a large plate of food. The smell of thai curries all over the market, the sweet scent of thai dessert flowing in the air, the hot sweet basil rice just cooked at that moment made every stomach started to growl. Even though the street food is a wonderful part of thai culture and cuisine, it is still a good idea to be careful when eating it.

Girls are working hard to stay slim and pretty for handsome boys. Smoothing faces, curling eyebrow, blushing cheek, and putting on red lipstick. Girls have always been more worried about their body and shape than men, but in recent years, this seem to be changing. Boys are now putting in an effort too!

Have you ever tried coconut milk ice cream? That man with the silver ice cram cart walking down the street. It's irresistible to walk towards that sweet, rich, and creamy texture. But glance at your belly, you might be surprised.

You can see the grey smoke flow around in the air from a tiny booth attach with a vehicle that can be transport to any place, a box made from glass with colourful fruits in it, or or a noodle soup shop with no more than 10 tables along the street. You are in Thailand which street foods are everywhere surrounding you. It can take less than 20 steps and see foods are being sell. Surprisingly, these foods only cost you less than 50 bath. You can spend a hundred and feed yourself with many kinds of food. Everything has their pros and cons. You might not agree with cleanness and the quality of the food you bought. There might be street animals or cars' smoke that affect the foods you ate. Even though the street food is a wonderful part of thai culture and cuisine, it is still a good idea to be careful when eating it.

Walking along the bustling street in Thailand, it is irresistible to glance your eyes to where the inviting smell comes from. A varieties of colorful creamy coconut curry, smoky barbeque skewers on a flaming grill, a real original ‘Pad-Thai’ made in an open-air kitchen are available for your choices of selection. Those under-three-dollars-mouth-watering street foods that you will never find in any restaurant attract anyone who walks passed to give it a try. However, what really happened behind the kitchen, no one knows. By taking just one step behind the bench, you will be amazed, or in the other word, ‘a reality’ will amaze you. A picture of an ants troop parading from a bag of ingredients; a couple of mouse playing hide and seek in the corner; and a floor full of dirt and rubbish will disgust you from eating street food. Yes, it looks good; yes, it tastes good; yes, it’s so cheap; and yes, it’s also dirty. Even though street food is a wonderful part of Thai culture and cuisine, it is still a good idea to be careful when eating.

  6. The diverts color that kick your sight, the smell that punch your nose and an invite for saliva. What can be better than to taste one of the tastiest foods in south East Asia. Thai food such as tom yum and green curry are Thai food that is a mixture of herb and nutrition, and the best thing about it is they can be found anywhere from street to 5 star grand hotel. However caution should be considered. Too much good thing can turn into a bad thing, and not all Thai foods are healthy.Even though street food is a wonderful part of Thai culture and cuisine, it is still a good idea to be careful when eating.

In the U.S., there are only a few kinds of foods to buy for 1 or 2 dollors. But in Thailand, that's enough to walk like a millionair on street food markets. Thai street food is not only cheap, but also plentiful and delicious. Travelers and residents are mostly happy with the reasonable prices and tastes of Thai street food. However, since the streets are full of dogs, insects, garbage, and vehicle exhaust fumes, the cleanliness and nutritive conditions have always been doubtful. Even though the street food is a wonderful part of Thai culture and cuisine, it is still a good idea to be careful when eating it.

It is widely recognized that street food has significantly become very famous in Thailand. Most of the Thai people usually consume street food. Some people mention that street food is wonderful because it is cheap and delicious. However, from my understanding, people should be careful about consuming street food because it can provide negative consequences to people.

You can see hot color all over food trays, smell tons of spices, or even see food flying in the air. Welcome to Thailand’s street food, thing that can’t be out of the traveler’s list. The only place in this world that you can find food that fill with traditional methods and taste or it could be unique recipe with amazing procedures. However, what buyers didn’t know is, how clean is the food? Rats and cockroach are running behind the counter, sellers are not wearing gloves or hat. Even though street food is a wonderful part of Thais culture and cuisine, it is a good idea to be careful when eating it.

what do you think about when you hear the word "Beauty"? I guess most people will immediately think about a woman who has a beautiful face and a perfect body. Women are very sensitive and care about their beauty in order to show people that they look good. However, this beauty does not only exist to women, but also the men. It can be clearly seen that men are very concerned about their bodies and faces nowadays and I personally believe that this is because the of the influences of media !

As you step in the most well-known Thai street road market, all your senses starts to awaken, on the right side you find crispy banana roti with sweet nutella sauce sprinkled on top with cold condensed milk. On the left, you find the cheapest original "Padthai" made right in front of you, the ingredients piling up are the most colorful and tempting you will ever see. The only thought that pops up in your mind is "I would not miss it for the world". Within a glimpse your stomach is as happy as it could be but the worst feeling follows, guiltiness. "Beauty is the charm for girls and body shape is something that can not be overlooked". Girls from the past until now still have the same concept and ideas that if they have good body shape, they will look prettier and gorgeous. However, it seems that an apparent does not cause a tension only for women but also men nowadays.

When you look back into the past and compare with the present, you realize that many things have change as time goes by. Some of these changes are technology and the way of thinking of modern people. Men and women become more mixing up allowing them to interact and share ideas. Thus has an impact on people nowadays. It is usual to see girls trying so hard to impress boys by third beauties. Girls have always been more worried about their worried about their shape than men, but in recent years, this seems to be changing.
