Journal Blog #5: What happens next?

We are nearing the end of the trimester...  we have come a long way. You read about a lot of issues regarding Health and Nutrition. You looked at areas that were interesting to you. We narrowed those areas down to a possible topic, brainstormed it, organized it, and put it into an Introduction that catches the reader's attention and tells us the clear point that you're looking to express.

So...  what happens next?

Where does your essay go from here? What are the best ideas you can think of to support your clear thesis statement. Don't feel pressure to write ALL of your ideas. Be picky! Think of your ideas and choose out the best ones... the ones that are most important and that are most likely to keep your reader reading.

In this journal blog, explain what happens next in your work.

Remember to include your ID# in your post. Aj. M

My body might be introducing these supplements:
    - Multi-vitamins
    - Glutamine
    - Whey Protein
    - Creatine
    - ZMA
    - Thermogenics
    - Fish Oils
    - Fatburners

I might choose some from these and give more details...
Please feel free to judge and give some advices for me; to let me know what should I improve. Thank you!

    1. In your Body, you will need 3-4 supporting paragraphs. Are these supplements specific for weight lifting or body toning? Is it necessary to choose supplements for a specific purpose? It may be possible to choose 3 of these supplements... but make sure the 3 relate to each other. 1 paragraph for each.

In the body paragraphs, I will talk about
-What is organic food (the qualifications)
    -Why people buy organic
-What overweighs the cost of organic food
-Whether or not organic food is healthier and more nutritious than conventional food
-If organic food is worth expensive price tag

I'm not so sure if these are all needed though. And there might be something else I should write about.
I do need your advice. Thank you.

    1. Ok... I agree that not all of them are needed. What is organic food (or qualification/definition) is a good paragraph idea. After that, I think you could cut "what outweights the cost of organic food"... I'm not sure what this means. The other 3 look like strong body ideas.

    1. This is ok. I think you can cut "why we need relationships" and "opposite views"... I don't think you're writing an argumentative essay. You may just focus on the long term health effects that relationships can give us... good and bad.

    1. Slow down... choose 3 of the most important ones that especially affect teenagers. For example, high blood pressure may not be a common problem for teenagers as much as it is for older people. You could cut that one. Try to choose carefully the 3 most appropriate ideas.

Thesis: Teenagers skip breakfast is a bad habit to overcome
    Body paragraph
Body 1 - The reason teenager skip breakfast
Body 2 - The negative effects of breakfast skipping
Body 3 - Ways to overcome breakfast skipping

I am not confident on my body paragraph structure due to my lack of research, however, I will do more research. Please give me guidance on my body structure. Thank you!

    1. You're right that it is fairly weak here... Body 2 would be ok. But for Body 1 and 3, I'm not really sure what you would write about other than "wake up earlier." Why not focus on the importance of breakfast, especially for young people. This will require some research to understand why young people need to re-fuel after they wake up.

How do students manage their stress and how are moods affected by what they eat?

Body 1: Why teenagers get stressed
Body 2: How their moods change by eating food ( ex: why get depressed when you are hungry but feel happy and become energetic after eating)
Body 3: Why do teenagers find sweets when they are down and does it really helpful to make them feel better?

    1. Ok... and maybe a paragraph that explains the kinds of food that are actually helpful during stressful times.

My body should contain these contents
-Why is the rate of teenage pregnancy shooting up
-Do teenagers choose to get pregnant or its unplanned
-Are they educated about the consequences and how it may change their lives
-The main reasons teenagers get pregnant.
All these will based on Thai society.

    1. The first Body could just explain more background... the change in rate of teenage pregnancy. After that, you could write body ideas about the possible causes: Possible Cause #1... Possible Cause #2...

Why Coca-Cola become famous in Thailand.
    1) advertisement
    - music festival
    2) campaign
    - share a coke
    - help flooding in Thailand
    3) taste
    - caffeine
    - sugar

    1. Body 1 and 2 could be good... because they are specific to Thailand (and they sound like marketing ideas.... which is ok). Reconsider Body 3... that is not specific to Thailand. Should it be another marketing idea?

western medicines has negative effects on Thai traditional medicine
    1) Health
    - western medicines will heal people in short term but traditional medicines care about well being of people.
    - some people have allergy to those medicines
    2) Finance
    - importation of modern medicines to Thailand will cost patient in high price, so poor people who cannot afford probably do not get well remedy.
    - some of western medicines use elements from Thailand, and they sell to Thai people in high price.
    3) Using of western medicines will slightly fade role of Thai traditional medicines.
    - Thai massage.
I am not sure about my third paragraph, I really need your advice. Thank you :)

    1. This is very thoughtful. I think you're going the right way here. In fact, your Body 3 makes sense to me. Thai massage for muscles, meditation for mental health, Thai herbs for bodily health... these traditions are being affected by modern medicine: physio therapy, anti-depressant pills, and energy boosters.

…………… This is only what people seem to know about the creation of fusion food but, in fact, there is something beyond that; something that has already existed but you may not even realize what fusion food really brings for us.
(1)Not only fusion cuisine creates a new innovative dishes but also a new cross-cultural cuisines; Tex-Mex, Italian-American and Indian-Chinese are the common ones. (2)With our desire for a variety of food and a unique flavor, fusion food is the absolute answer to this. It satisfied consumers demand. Also, the creation of fusion food doesn’t only apply to the flavors but also presented on our plate with more appealing manners. (3)Most of fusion dishes are presented in a contemporary style combining different styles presentation make it more interesting and appealing. Moreover, every food has its displeasure area which can be fulfilled by selecting the different ingredients and method to replace the original one. (4)As a result, fusion food will widen the flavor gap and offer a healthier choice of food into the culinary world; a wider range of diners will be satisfied. (5)Essentially, fusion food brings a critical connection to the world cuisine. It is a tool to ease foreigners into local cuisines by blending the flavors of foreign cuisines with local cuisine to fit the taste of local consumer. This lead to an increased interest in consuming local or ethnic food as many people around the world now have an increased exposure to a wider variety of ethnic dishes and products.
