We have been looking at different ways to write an Introduction. Some may start with a quotations or a shocking statistic. Others might ask a question (and hopefully a good one). Others may tell a story (or otherwise called an anecdote) to bring the reader into the world of the topic: "a steamy evening at the beginning of the rainy season...".When we think about Michael Jordan, we think of one of the greatest sports leaders of all time. Even after Shaq or Kobe or LeBron, Jordan still stands out as the model everyone looks to. He was a high flyer. He was quick and fast and smart. More than that, he was a winner. A good introduction tells us the background (who is he?), some context (when? where? what? why? how?), and takes the reader to a particular point, a thesis statement.
Think about Michael Jordan. Write your best introduction, and I will review the best ones in class.

If anyone asked me who is the best basketball player of all time,I would tell them that Jordan is. From the way he runs, shoots, dunks or rebounds, it is just super fast and strong. Perfection can be seen from his basketball skills. He inspires all the basketball players to get better and improve without saying a word but from him playing basketball. Kobe Bryant is one of the famous NBA basketball players who was inspired by Jordan. Jordan was a great leader who probably leaded almost every basketball players to play basketball and to be better. I also believe that he still today is the greatest leader for basketballs.

His flowing shoot, quick and powerful drive, and dynamic jump like walking in the air highlighted his formidable presence on the court. From 1984 to 2003, people, including even who did not know much about basketball, were involved in his beautiful goals. Uncountable young people dreamed to be like Michael Jordan, and many great basketball players such as Kobe and LeBron came out from the dream. However, his life was not just glory; he could not be a basketball team member at first when he was in high school. He succeeded by getting over failure many times, and the bitter experiences developed his belief that influenced many people around the world. Michael Jordan is known as the best basketball player around the world. Even when people have no interest in basketball, they will have heard about his name at least once in their life. As stated above in the passage, he is fast, accurate, and smart. Those made him to become the winner of almost every basketball seasons he attended. Michael Jordan wasn't perfect at playing basketball, because he wasn't able to join the team in his high school life. This definitely tells that Jordan learned from his failure and improved at it.

The slam trophy would bounce back and forth between the two each year with Dominique powerful and dominating dunks an Jordan flashy flights. However in the year 1988 things are different as flight JD lift off at the free throw line 15 feet from the hoop. his arms stretch out straight legs spread wide as if he was walking on thin air and not to forget his tongue sticking out as he was dunking. Jack Horner the paleontologist and Nathan Myrvold the dinosaur enthusiast both were dedicated to find dinosaur's bones. Bell and Gray invented the telephone, but Bell was lucky enough to present his invention first. Myrvold started a company that sell ideas to people. how is this all related ? The word "multiples" the author tells the reader that discover or invention is bound to happen regardless. There will always be an original invention across the globe , but as long as you present it first people will credit you for it and you will be known for its invention

ReplyDeleteMultiples, the word itself already imply the multiple meaning, it can be stated that this word can be used when different people from different places have the same idea that inspired them to do the same things, which leads to benefits of motivation, discovery and brainstorm. To begin, the story of Jack Horner and Nathan Myhrvold, from the strangers to the co-worker. Horner and Myhrvold are sharing the same common thing,both of them are dinosaur lover. Thus, it inspired them to the great exploring of the dinosaurs' bone in the 19th century which show that multiples of the ideas had a big influenced on people's motivation. Another story, the telephone's creators, Bell was known as the first telephone creator because he was the first one who handed in the patent. However, Gray was also discovered the telephone at the same time but he was not named as the first telephone creator even though he made a better phone. Hence, if Bell was not exist there would be someone like Gray who had the same idea. The last example of multiples, Myhrvold established a company that combined only smartest people in the country in order to sell the ideas. This company discovered more than 500 ideas per year, it can be say that gathered geniuses together occurred brainstorming that make the ideas even better than few people do.
