Journal Blog #1: What is your greatest source of inspiration?

Welcome to the first ERS journal blog entry for Trimester 3, 2013. For this term of ERS, the theme for us will be Innovation/Inspiration. In my view, before we are able to innovate, first we need to be inspired to do it. We draw our inspirations from many sources, whether it be family or someone we admire. We may be moved by art or nature. There might be something from within us that motivates us and gives us the energy and will to pursue a particular idea or dream.

As a teacher-for-life, I can easily say that I draw inspiration from my students. My students can be my inspiration, my frustration, my joy, and my sadness all at the same time. When thinking about my day in class, I can either go to bed happy, annoyed, energized, disappointed, or inspired. This is what keeps me in this profession and motivates me to do better and understand more about what we do everyday in that classroom.

For this first blog journal, the topic is wide open. You may be involved in a club or sport. You may enjoy spending time in a park with your thoughts or in your room with your music... there are so many things that bring inspiration. Please share your own ideas about what inspires you.

Make sure you include your student ID# in your post. I look forward to reading your thoughts. Aj. M

In my view, I want to success in my life and this is my inspiration because i saw my dad that when he was child, his family was very poor. However, nowadays, he studies hard, works hard to success in his life. In my opinion about successful, success in life means the person who has good family, good job, and happy in their life.

    1. I think we are all inspired to some extent by success. We celebrate successful people and hope to be one ourselves.

  2. For me, where I can get my inspiration to keep myself going or whenever I feel so down is family, my mom. She always encourages and makes me feel better so her words and actions can motivate me a lot. Plus, reading inspirational quotes like Nick Vujicic's quotes on Facebook or Instagram can help me feel much better as well to go on with my life.

    1. Quotations do often make us sit back and think about the world in ways that we didn't before.

  3. In my view, my family, especially my dad is the greatest source of my inspiration because my dad started his life from nothing, and he was very poor. He worked very hard for his better life. Eventually, he can done his target, and now he has everything that he want and also he can takes care of his family by himself, so I actually want to be like him. In addition, when i read the famous businessman biography or autobiography, I also want to be like them and work hard in today for my successful life in the future.

    1. Our fathers are often a major inspiration for a family. When life gets hard, it is our fathers we often look to in order to see what he does.

Everyone has their own inspiration included me. Family and friends are my inspiration. If I see people that I know are succeeding in his or her life, I will work hard to be like them. Moreover, I also set a wallpaper on my iPad with quote that can motivate me every time I slide the screen. Even if we have difference inspiration, but all of that brings us a good thing.

    1. We sneak little messages of inspiration to ourselves either as screensavers on our computers, pictures on our walls, or quotes on the door of our fridge. We like to see them.

In my view, my brother is my inspiration. He pushes me the right way all the time. Also, He always teaches me to be a good one. Whenever i feel depressed or disappointed, he'll encourage me to face problems instead of giving up like him. Anyway, he's the best brother and my inspiration also.

    1. Interesting. Sometimes we can be inspired to work harder to be outstanding from others who do not.

  6. In my perspective, the people who are inspiration in my life is parents because I know they faced with their hardship before and they tried to fight with their full-effort. Thus, nowadays, they are successful in their life. Beside, they always believe in me that I can do good things. When I surrender and give up hope, I will see them and fight on.

    1. You're lucky to have a model you can look to. Not everyone has it.

Because there are many people, the source of inspiration also comes in many ways. Some might be friends, brothers, or sisters. Sometime the source of some people isn't a living thing; it could also be a moment of their life that just inspired them to do something new.
For me, my source of inspiration is my daily activities such as going to the university, playing online games, read books, etc. I feel that by letting your mind free and just look around you when you're doing something, sometimes it just give you new inspiration. I never think that the inspiration must be from only place, but to inspired someone it just have to be in the right place at the right time so the inspiration kicks in hard and stick in the mind of that person.

    1. I like this comment. We don't always have to look too hard for inspiration. It might be all around us. We just need to open our eyes.

My inspiration is the people I love. Because I care and love them they become the one that inspires me and motivates me for the things I do. It is usually my parents and my sisters that leads me in life and then watching them being successful inspires me. My friends and the people around me are also one of my inspirations. Lastly, I believe that I myself is my own inspiration. My innovations and decisions are what matters the most in the end.

    1. This is good. Inspiration does not have to be an external source. The source may be within. Thank you for your comment.
